About Scott Gilson
Scott “Scooter” Gilson is the Founder and President of Gilson Consulting Group, LLC where he provides support to Large and Small Business clients in pursuit of work for the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies. He is skilled in Executive Management, Business Operations, Business Development, Capture methodologies, and Proposal Support.
His staff experience includes multiple assignments supporting the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process; Joint requirements through his role as Recorder for the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC); 4-Star General Executive Support, having served as the Director of the Commander’s Action Group at Air Force Space Command (AFSPC); and Command Inspector General, AFSPC.
Since his retirement in 2011, Scooter has served as Task Lead, Program Manager, Regional Executive, and Vice President for Market Development and at firms both Large and Small. He has helped capture, propose, win and execute work in excess of $1 Billion in total contract value(s).
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Information Systems from Robert Morris University, and Masters Degrees in Administration from Central Michigan University and Strategic Studies from Air University. He was inducted into the Center High School (Monaca, PA) “Hall of Fame”, Class of 2007.
Scooter is a member of the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association where he also serves as Vice President of Workforce Development. He supports the Air and Space Forces Association “Space Working Group” (National level), and is a Partner at Elara Nova: The Space Consultancy.
He and Cathy have three children and reside in Monument, Colorado.
